The WPA-Section of Psycho-Oncology is the section of the WPA dedicated to fostering psychiatry and behavioral sciences within all the fields of oncology and palliative care in order to provide optimal psychosocial care of cancer patients at all stages of disease and survivorship and their families. The WPA-Section on Psycho-Oncology is committed in:
- collecting and disseminating pertinent scientific information on the psychopathological and psychosocial concomitants of patients with cancer and their families;
- establishing working relations with other organizations in the field of Psycho-Oncology both at national and international levels;
- organizing scientific meetings on specific topics relative to the area of Psycho-Oncology in national, international and world congresses;
- developing educational materials.
The WPA-Section of Psycho-Oncology has members from all the parts of the world involved in the area of Psycho-Oncology and Palliative Care.
