The second most important Conference of our Society - the National Mid-term CME (Continuing Medical Education) - which was held at Bodhgaya (the birthplace of Lord Buddha) on September 1-2, 2012 was a grand success.  The theme of the CME was “Challenges Facing Psychiatric Nosology”. There was houseful participation and excellent academic discourse. The Panel Discussion by Consultants was innovative and focused on “Strategies for future – Indian perspectives”. It was moderated by IPS President-Elect Prof. Indira Sharma and the consultants who participated in the discussion were Profs. R. Srinivasa Murthy, Dipesh Bhagabati, and Asim Kumar Mallick. A 'PG Forum' in which Post Graduate Residents participated in a debate was introduced for the first time.

Besides, the IPS Council Members held a special discussion session with the Chief Guest Shri Keshav Desiraju, Special Secretary, Health & FW, Government of India, which was very productive and useful. The meeting was presided by IPS President, Prof. Roy Abraham Kallivayalil.

The organizing secretary Dr. CL Narayan and our CME committee led by Profs. PK Singh and Varghese P Punnoose ensured the smooth conduct of the entire programme.
