The XIII Psychiatric Days of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The traditional Symposium, fully organized by the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina (PABH), named Psychiatric Days of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held in the City of Mostar on November 15-16, 2013 in the Hotel “ERO”. This year’s main topic was “Addiction: New Insights” with the main idea to bring together national and regional experts from the field of addictology to discuss on a crucial issue of all times: addiction. In two days, more than 20 lecturers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro presented the current situation and gave all of the 200 participants new insights with results of recent researches but also demonstrated the relevant practices in different parts of this region. Dynamic scientific sessions were followed with constructive discussions by many participants. Co-organizer of the Symposium was the Department of Psychiatry, University Clinical Hospital Mostar and for the first time, our Symposium was held under the patronage of the European Psychiatric Association (EPA). As part of the Scientific Programme, the EPA Academia CME Course “Leadership Skills in Psychiatry” was held on November 16, 2013 and was conducted by Prof. Dinesh Bhugra (United Kingdom), WPA President-Elect. This intensive course was attended by 22 participants, mostly psychiatry trainees and early careers from 6 cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All participants at the Symposium and course were provided with CME points by the Medical Chamber of Neretva-Herzegovina Canton/County and also a book “Schizophrenia” by Prof. Miro Jakovljević (Croatia), and for course participants the book “Complete Psychiatrist” by Prof. Dinesh Bhugra. The accompanying program was also held, with 11 exhibitions of symposia sponsors and a gala dinner in the Hotel “ERO”. Also, the 4th Ordinary General Assembly of the Association was held in Mostar. The PABH President Prof. Dragan Babić, welcomed all guests and participants in the name of our Association as well as in the name of the Organizing Committee of the Symposium.

In the beautiful City of Mostar, which also improves both intellectually and spiritually, we had a pleasant and useful opportunity to exchange professional experiences and ideas with colleagues and enjoy always sunny Herzegovina. Announcement of future activities

It is our great pleasure to announce the scientific events in 2014 organized by the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina(PABH).
1. The Association of Biological Psychiatry/ Psychopharmacology will organize the Eighth Symposium of Biological Psychiatry/Psychopharmacology of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Department of Psychiatry, University Clinical Centre Sarajevo are co-organizers of this traditional symposium with international participation, which will be held on April 25-26, 2014. The main topic is “News in Psychop- harmacology”.
2. On June 14, 2014 it is planned to hold the tra- ditional symposium with international partici- pation, the Eleventh Mostar’s Psychiatric Sat- urday. Our Association is co-organizer of this very important scientific event in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the main topic “Placebo and Nocebo: Between Rituals, Religions and Medi- cine”. The Symposium will be held in Mostar, a major city in Herzegovina.
3. The Annual Symposium of the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the XIII Psychiatric Days in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on November 7-8, 2014 in Mostar(Hotel “ERO”). This WPA co-sponsored meetingis fully organized by PABH and will be heldunder the patronage of the European Psychiatric Association with support and accreditation by the Medical Chamber of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton/County. The topic of Psychiatric Days 2014 is “Suicidal Behavior, Suicide Preventionand Suicide”. The General Assemblyof the Association will be held during the Symposium. We are pleased to be the host of one more EPA Academia CME Course in our country during the Symposium in Mostar. The course “Suicide prevention: from evaluation of suicide risk to diagnosis and treatment” led by Prof. Marco Sarchiapone (Italy) will contribute to the main topic of the Symposium.
