On December 16, 2014 massacre of children in Army Public School by terrorist left 150 children and teachers dead spreading a shock wave locally, nationally as well as in the region. Keeping in view the sensitivity of such incident Horizon NGO, WPA, WAPR and the Royal College of Psychiatrist South East Division collaborated for measure to activate post trauma skill development in stake holders to include school teachers, students, medical community, media and religious leaders. As a first step a 4 day training symposium and workshop was organized by a local NGO Horizon and financially supported by Ibadat Hospital Peshawar, Pakistan.
Eminent Medical Scholar, Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Professor M. Hafizullah and Prof. Tariq S Mufti, Principal Rehman Medical College, Peshawar accepted the perceived need to include the trauma management in undergraduate medical curriculum. WPA endorsed this whole activity as accredited CME.
