As it had been conducted in the last four trienniums since 1996, a general survey for the triennium of 2008-2011 was undertaken and completed by the WPA Secretary General and the WPA Secretariat in consultation with the WPA Executive Committee. The WPA General Survey (GS) 2008-2011 is an organizational evaluation and consultation process of the activities of the WPA by all its components. This report responds to the present normative requirements.

I am happy to inform you about my new position as Secretary for Education of the World Psychiatric Association.

It is a matter of great privilege for getting elected to the post of Secretary for Sections in the recent WPA elections. I am grateful to all Member Societies for having confidence in me and giving me a chance to work for the WPA.

My main objective when elected World Psychiatric Association (WPA) Secretary for Sections six years ago was to consolidate the work of our Sections through initiatives to enhance their activities and visibility.
