The second webinar for new World Psychiatric Association's (WPA) online learning series: ‘Early Intervention’ is now available online!
The second webinar in the "Early Intervention" series, titled: “Early Intervention in Low Resource Settings - Findings from the WIC (Warwick – India - Canada) Project” took place on Friday the 10th of December and was a great success. The well-attended event was chaired by Swaran P. Singh MBBS MD FRCPsych DM and included presentations from five internationally acclaimed academic researchers and clinicians:
Prof Rakesh K Chadda (AIIMS, New Delhi, India) - ‘Protocol-based care for first episode psychosis’
Dr R Thara (SCARF, Chennai, India) - ‘Early detection of mental illness through school-based screening’
Prof Jason Madan (University of Warwick, UK) - 'Health Economics of Early Intervention Services'
Prof Graeme Currie (University of Warwick, UK) - 'Implementation Science in LMICs'
Dr Srividya Iyer (McGill University, Canada) - 'Early Intervention Services in global context: new frontiers'

Funded by WPA and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), this webinar provided an overview of the WIC project's work and initial findings. The faculty includes renowned global mental health experts who have been leading mental health programmes in Low and Middle Income Country (LMIC) settings.
