It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Dr Ronald M. Wintrob on Monday 17 August 2020 after a chronic illness.
Ron was one of the most prominent representatives and pioneers of cultural psychiatry. A past chairperson of the WPA Transcultural Psychiatry Section (WPA-TPS), he was an important WPA leader who uplifted the Section to help make it what it is today. Most international organizations in the transcultural field were either founded by him or benefited from his leadership as president.
Ron's energy and initiative were a great inspiration. He was a generous colleague and friend, always available for guidance and support. We offer our sincere condolences to his family.
