Registration is now open for the second course in WPA's Online Learning Program - Principles of Supportive Psychotherapy - delivered as part of the 20th World Congress of Psychiatry which took place in March this year.
Delivered by global psychotherapy experts – Dr. César A. Alfonso (USA), Dr. Erin Crocker (USA), Dr. David Teo Choon Liang (Singapore) and Assoc. Prof. Rasmon Kalayasiri (Thailand) - this latest course will review the common factors of psychotherapy that are curative and clinically relevant.
Designed for early to mid-career general psychiatrists as well as psychiatry trainees, it aims to increase knowledge and competence in the delivery of supportive psychotherapy and the basic aspects of psychodynamic psychotherapy. Faculty members will explore principles and practical applications of supportive psychotherapy and intensive psychotherapy, when relevant, in general psychiatric practice settings such as inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, general hospital, and addiction psychiatry settings. Particular attention will be given to cultural adaptations and optimizing services in high volume clinical settings.
Attendees will have opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience in applying the skills learned through two interactive Q&A sessions within this three-hour course.
Places are strictly limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to registrants of the 20th World Congress of Psychiatry. The course will be available online to the broader WPA membership via its Education Portal in the weeks following the live event.
