World Psychiatric Association (WPA) launch their “Meet the Leaders” interview film series which will be available to view on their website, YouTube and social media channels
World Psychiatric Association (WPA) is excited to share with you our “Meet the Leaders” interview film series which is a series of interviews of the current WPA Executive Committee (EC) members and past WPA Presidents.
In this series of interviews, each member has shared not only a summary of their valuable contributions to the association and the field of mental health in general over the years, but also their insightful views on the contributions made by WPA and its member associations.
Over the next couple of months, we will be releasing an interview each week, gradually working through each EC member and past president. Work is still continuing in the background and following this series, we will also be interviewing WPA Zonal Representatives and Action Plan Working Group Chairs.
We kick off the series with the current President, Prof. Afzal Javed. Prof. Afzal Javed was appointed President-Elect at the 2017 World Congress of Psychiatry in Berlin. In 2020, he assumed the role of President and launched the 2020-2023 Action Plan. You can hear what he has to say in his interview on the “Meet the Leader” page here.
