Update of the WPA Website

An important achievement of the 2017-2020 triennium is the modernisation of the WPA website.  While our previous website contained an enormous amount of valuable information, it wasn’t always easy to find. It’s myriad pages and legacy links also made it difficult to update and keep up-to-date.  It was missing a lot of the functionality that modern users expect to see when visiting a website, and it didn't allow WPA to integrate our communications to members in the way that is often now expected.

Now, we are able to ensure that our visitors have the most up-to-date information at their fingertips.

Working from Home

We can make almost immediate changes, add news as it happens and provide visitors with a more interactive experience.  And it continues to evolve.  We’re always building behind the scenes, adding more materials, and targeting it more precisely so that every user can find the information relevant to them.

We've added more and more automated processes that were once handled manually via the secretariat.  Already, visitors can

use online forms to submit enquiries and speed up administrative processes.  They can download publications and learning resources, link directly through to congress websites and easily find information on board members, council and committees.  They can submit their news online, collaborate with each other and transfer knowledge across borders through new online tools and resources.

That last point has come to be of particular importance in 2020 as the global COVID-19 pandemic has forced the closure of local and world borders - and the opening of the digital world and its many capabilities.  Through our website we have been able to provide resources and tools as related to the pandemic, we have been able to keep our stakeholders up-to-date on the ever-changing landscape of meetings and projects, we have been able to support the digitisation of key WPA events like the forthcoming General Assembly and World Congress of Psychiatry.

We're excited to add even more capabilities in the future!
